In a recent report, the Brookings Institution, a nonprofit public policy organization, offered five insights it gleaned from the 2010 U.S. Census and its follow up reports.
These items include:
- the United States is growing more slowly;
- Americans are increasingly stuck at home;
- minorities are driving growth, replenishing America’s youth;
- Boomers continue to age, transforming American households; and
- Americans lost ground on income and poverty in the 2000’s.
