April Fool's Day Hoaxes

As Rhode Island and other parts of New England and beyond deal with the current flooding and continued cleanup of winter storms, we come to the Holy Triduum of Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday. During this holy time, may the spirit of these holy days and of Easter Sunday touch the hearts of all who are suffering from these weather events and all who are ministering to them.

As I suspect we all know, this day is also known as April Fool's Day.

Kim Komando, a writer and radio show host focusing on life in the Digital Age, sent out the following in one of her daily emailings:

"Pranks and hoaxes are a tradition on April Fool's Day. Whether it's silly or subtle, you'll probably encounter one or two. Of course, most of us now expect it and aren't easily tricked.

"Sometimes, however, the hoax is very well done. Put enough effort into it and you can get away with a lot. This is especially true if you're usually a legitimate information source.

"Thus we get reports on spaghetti harvests, decreasing gravity, and whistling carrots. And some people actually believe them! Check out this site to read about more April Fool's Day hoaxes."
