Massachusetts Initiative: Encouraging Young People to Make Good Decisions

One of the treasures of New England is the many religious, government, non-profit, and other organizations who are working individually and collectively to encourage good decision making on the part of this region’s young people. A good example of such an effort is the set of three “Stay in The Game" conferences recently sponsored by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Public Safety and Security and the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association. These all-day conferences were designed to bring the message of making good decisions to high school athletes (considered one of the most at-risk populations for binge drinking) and to inspire student leaders to bring the safety message back to their peers.

Media reports:

WWLP-TV: Athletes commit to not drink underage (11 MAY 11)

Cape Cod Times: Underage drinking conference drives risks home to Cape teens (2 JUN 11)

Sun Chronicle: Up close and personal (3 JUN 11)
