This year the Diocese of Providence’s Gregorian Concert Choir is celebrating its 25th anniversary. It was established in 1987 by then-Father (now Monsignor) Anthony Mancini (who, at the time, was serving as assistant pastor of Our Lady of Grace Church, Johnston). The choir is accompanied by organist Philip Faraone and by the Festival Orchestra.
Over the years, the choir has performed at the Vatican for the late Pope John Paul II during a papal audience and sung at Saint Patrick Cathedral in New York City and at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC. In addition, the choir has been holding an annual concert for the benefit of the diocese’s Keep the Heat On program.
