RI Pumpkin Farmer Sets World Record at Pumpkin Weigh-off

Greene (Coventry), RI, farmer Ron Wallace recently was awarded two first prizes for the largest pumpkins at competitions in New England.

On Saturday (6 October), Wallace’s entry at the Southern New England Giant Pumpkin Grower’s Annual Weigh-off at Frerichs Farm in Warren, RI, weighed in at 1,872 pounds, an event record.

On 28 September, his entry at the All New England Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off, held at the Topsfield Fair in Topsfield, MA, weighed in at 2009 pounds and set a new world record.
