Editor's note: I have had similar experiences. The one that remains most in mind is a time I had fallen asleep while sitting in our rocking chair. However, I needed to be awake for a specific reason (that slips my memory). I felt a pinch on the back of my hand (not enough to hurt, but enough to get my attention) - no human or animal was present. I woke up and did whatever I needed to do at the time.
