EPA on Local Governments and the Cleanup and Redevelopment of Contaminated Properties

According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, local governments can play an important role in facilitating the cleanup and redevelopment of properties contaminated by hazardous substances.

EPA is offering a new fact sheet as a resource for local governments concerned about incurring potential CERCLA (Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act, commonly known as Superfund) liability as a result of their activities to facilitate cleanup and redevelopment of contaminated properties.
