The first National Rural Health Day, an observance designed to increase awareness of rural health-related issues and promote the work of health and farm safety organizations nationwide in rural and agricultural communities, is planned for 17 November.
Created by the National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health (NOSORH), the day will also help recognize the efforts of organizations, such as the University of Vermont Extension, whose farm health and safety programs provide ongoing education and assistance to farmers and rural residents.
