Cardinal Dolan Urges Catholics to Be Active in Politics

In the keynote address at the annual Diocese of Rockville Centre (Long Island, NY) Public Policy Convention, Cardinal Timothy Dolan reminded those present that Catholics have a duty as American citizens to bring faith-inspired convictions to politics. In his presentation, entitled “Lifting up Our Voices: How Catholics can Make an Impact on Public Policy," Cardinal Dolan said that Catholic involvement in the public square is based on Catholic social teaching, which clearly expresses basic principles and the actions that logically should follow from them.
