There have, unfortunately, been a number of shooting deaths in each of the New England states over the past few months.
One of these incidents involved three persons being shot and killed in an apartment at 151 General Street in Providence, RI, on Monday, 30 August. I was greatly saddened to learn that one of the victims of this shooting was Damien Colon, who was one of my students when I was teaching 7th and 8th Grade at Saint Patrick School in Providence.
I enjoyed having Damien in the classroom. He was fun-loving and filled with enthusiasm, and he could focus well on his subject work. May he rest in peace, and may the Lord wrap his family, and each of the others involved with this tragedy, with the mantle of his love.
