Today the Church celebrates the memory of Saint John Mary Vianney, priest. Known as the “Curé of Ars,” he had a reputation as a devout parish priest. He was also well known as a confessor, and he spent as many as sixteen to eighteen hours in the confessional.
He is the patron saint of parish priests, and, on this day, it would be well to lift each of our parish priests up in prayer and ask the Lord to bless, guide, help, and be with each of them in their often challenging ministry.
