Although large businesses corporations have a major presence in this
region and throughout the nation, small business play an important role
in our communities, states, this region, and each region of the nation.
Small businesses support the local economy in a number of ways
(including the creation of local jobs), often are involved in the
community's civic and cultural life, and typically offer good service to
the local community.
