One of the treasures of New England is the great variety of literature related to New England or written by authors from the region. These works include a number of fiction works with a setting in one or more of the six states that make up the region. (I have a special preference for the mystery stories).
Some time ago, the Boston Globe came up with a list of what the writers considered the top books about New England or written by local authors.
