Three New England Communities Listed Among America's Top 20 Geekiest Cities

What is a geek? This is one question for which there are a plethora of answers. Forbes Magazine recently ranked what the writers termed the twenty geekiest cities using information in a recent report by the National Science Foundation (an independent federal agency that was created in 1950 to "to promote the progress of science; to advance the national health, prosperity, and welfare; to secure the national defense…"). This report ranked the top twenty cities in the United States by the percentage of workers with jobs in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

The results, according to this list:

#3 – Framingham, MA

#6 – Lowell, MA

#15 – Boston, MA
