In Lincoln, Vermont, there is, and has been for fifteen years, a Christmas tree in the woods (courtesy Bill Finger, town manager of nearby Middlebury). Thanks to the recent incursion of Tropical Storm Irene, though, the tree almost did not make an appearance this year.
