Fr. Martin Fox on What Today’s Young Catholics Can Expect from the Church of Tomorrow

“What can young Catholics of today expect from the Church of tomorrow?

“. . . That’s the topic I was given, by the young adults group at Holy Cross-Immaculata, when we gathered this past Wednesday for a first ‘Soul Supper,’ at a local establishment on The Hill.

“We had a great time, eating bar food and drinking beer and discussing the Faith.

“Lots of great questions were bandied about; I enjoy fielding questions about the Faith.

“But they also asked me to give an answer to the question posed in the title of this post.”

In a recent commentary, Father Martin Fox (Parochial Vicar of Saint Rose of Lima Parish, Cincinnati, OH, and Director of Priestly Formation Office, Archdiocese of Cincinnati) offered some thoughts in answer to this question. As part of his answer, Fr. Fox stated that the Church will be there, because Christ promised it would; that it will have the same mission – to introduce people to Jesus Christ in this life, so that they can live with Him in eternity; that the Church will be Christ to them and, therefore, speak to them the way Jesus speaks to them.
