Pet Theft Awareness Day

Today, 14 February is being observed as Pet Theft Awareness Day, an observance designed to bring awareness of pet theft and highlight ways to prevent theft of one's pet(s).

Recommendations to prevent pet theft include:

• microchipping pets,
• organize pet's information (including placing medical information and recent pictures in a readily accessible file),
• ensure yard is secure, and
• never leave pets unattended.
