This week, the week of 12-18 April, is being observed as National Dog Bite Prevention Week, an observance designed to focus on educating people about preventing dog bites. According to the American Veterinary Medical Association, there were, in 2017, almost 350,000 people treated at hospital emergency rooms for non-fatal dog-related injuries.
