Dr. Jennifer Prohaska, clinical psychologist and founder of Insight Public Safety and Forensic Consulting, has worked closely with more than 50 police departments across multiple states.”
In a recent article in Officer magazine, Dr. Prohaska offered a number of recommendations designed to help officers better manage stress (on the job and elsewhere). These tips, which would also work for persons in other fields, include the importance of diversifying (not just being the job), watching one’s mental diet, and becoming an intentional task switcher.
