In seems like a week does not go by without one or more communities in this region requesting volunteers to assist on one of the municipal boards or committees or with a special project. Two recent news articles – each from a different perspective – highlighted the important role volunteers play in providing municipal services to each community – no matter the size – in New England. One article highlighted the contributions of a volunteer in Rhode Island, and the other article focused on the need for volunteers in a number of Massachusetts communities.
