Most people probably do not associate a tent revival with Catholicism. However, there are a few parishes or other Catholic groups that hold or have held tent revivals, which often last a few days and include a mixture of music, prayer, and preaching.
Over the years, Myrna and I have participated in tent revivals at Saint Patrick Parish in Providence (RI) and at the Shrine of Our Lady of La Salette in Attleboro, MA. These were great experiences inspirational experiences, and they served to recharge one's faith. The ones at LaSalette were sponsored by the shrine's Charismatic Prayer Group, and lasted (if memory serves me correctly) three days. The St. Patrick tent revivals, which continue, were approximately four-five days and now last a full week.
The St. Patrick tent revivals usually have started on Pentecost Sunday, and they have a specific theme from scripture. This year's revival, which is currently going on, draws its theme from Micah 6:8: "You have been told...what is good and what the LORD requires of you: Only to do the right and to love goodness, and to walk humbly with your God."
