Vaughn Kohler on Participating in the Public Square as a Catholic

"The good news is that Catholics still live in a country where we can actively engage and influence our government through democratic processes. The bad news is that too many of us don't know how to adopt the right disposition to effectively accomplish this task."

In a recent column in National Catholic Register, Vaughn Kohler offered six guidelines from sacred Scripture that one may use to guide our "participation in the public square." These guidelines encourage us to be prepared, polite, passionate, personal, prayerful, and persistent.
