"A book is a garden, an orchard, a storehouse, a party, a company by the way, a counselor, a multitude of counselors." - Charles Baudelaire
On nice summer evenings, Eric, a neighbor, may often be seen reading a (hardcover) book on his front steps. A former co-worker, Jeremy, loved books and made them available at his desk (the equivalent of a little library) for anyone who wished to borrow one or trade one. The previous post on John Emmet Clarke,'s commentary reflected on the importance of books as they relate to participating in our faith tradition. Books are also important for a variety of other reasons, as illustrated in a post in the "SeeKen" blog:
SeeKen: Why Are Books Important?
I have been a avid reader for years, and, as a teacher (7th and 9th grades) and in other capacities, I have made it a point to encourage reading books (as well as periodicals and other printed material) May person who reads this post (as well as any other posts offered her) begin (again)/continue reading (good) books.
