New England is a treasure house filled with many different types of spiritual, cultural, historical, and other resources. Included in this treasure trove is a rich mixture of athletic and other recreation opportunities.
One recreation opportunity in Massachusetts, for participants and for spectators, is the Head of the Charles Regatta, a rowing race held each year in October on the Charles River (between Boston and Cambridge). It considered one of the two largest two-day rowing events in the world.
