A New England public servant servant recently died in the line of duty, a reminder of the hazards and stresses faced by the members of the region's public safety services. Officer Jessica M. Ebbighausen, 19, who had served with the Rutland City, VT, Police Department for six weeks, was killed in the line of duty as a result of an automobile collision with a burglary suspect's vehicle.
