Throughout New England, there are a number of fire museums that offer a look into the history of the fire service in a local community, a state, or beyond.
One such museum is The Fire Museum, located in a retired 1901 Manchester, CT, fire station. Its exhibits include a 1911 American water tower, a 1928 American LaFrance Type-100 pumper (on loan from the Connecticut Fire Museum), and a hand engine (the Colonel Ellsworth).
