There are a number of people and organizations throughout this region who have made a commitment to assist those in need, often focusing on some very specific needs they are trying to assist with. One of these treasures of New England is Clara Loeffel, a former intern with the Greenwich Department of Social Services, who organized a committee of service providers to support the attorneys, family members, and other individuals who take on conservator roles and who must make legal, medical or financial decisions for residents who are unable to do so themselves.
