New England’s Fire Service Heritage: Northfield, VT, Fire Department Museum

Throughout New England, there are a number of fire museums that offer a look into the history of the fire service in a local  community, a state, or beyond.

One such museum is the Northfield Fire Department Museum, which is located in a small room in the Northfield Fire Station located at 128 Wall Street. Its exhibits include an 1836 hand pumper (the "Governor Paine").
