One of the treasures of New England is the number and variety of family-run farms in the region. Although the numbers of New England farms have been decreasing over the years, there are still quite a few in operation (one illustration of this: in 1972, there were 90 dairy farms in Rhode Island, and, by 2003, this number had dropped to 22).
Examples of these family-run farms include:
Norton Brothers Fruit Farm, Cheshire, Connecticut
Wentworth Hill Farms, Knox, Maine
Balance Rock Farm, Berlin, Massachusetts
King's Brook Farm, Bradford, New Hampshire
Rambone Brothers Farm, Johnston, Rhode Island
Doolittle Farm, Shoreham, Vermont
