New England’s Fire Service Heritage: Former Fire Stations in a New Life

Throughout New England, there are a number of former fire stations that are now serving in a new capacity.

Some examples of these converted fire stations are:

Windsor, CT: Gottier Investments, 14 Windsor Avenue

Bangor: ME: Hose 5 Fire Museum, 247 State Street

Boston, MA: J.P. Licks Ice Cream Cafe, 659 Centre Street, Jamaica Plain

Derry, NH: Halligan Tavern, 32 West Broadway

Pawtucket, RI: Hose Company No. 6 (restaurant), 626 Central Avenue

Burlington, VT: Firehouse Center for the Visual Arts, 135 Church Street
