New England Schools Meet HealthierUS School Challenge

The HealthierUS School Challenge is a voluntary initiative established in 2004 to recognize those schools participating in the National School Lunch Program that have created healthier school environments through promotion of nutrition and physical activity. Since the beginning of the HealthierUS School Challenge, awards have been given to schools in 43 states.

These schools include 33 schools from New England:

Maine Award Winners: 4 Silver, 18 Bronze

Massachusetts Award Winners: 3 Gold

Rhode Island Award Winners: 8 Bronze
