Saint Dominic

Today the Church celebrates the memory of Saint Dominic, founder of the Order of Preachers (who are known as the Dominicans).

Thanks be to God, I have two connections to St. Dominic:

• my aunt and godmother, Sister M. Teresita Lopatosky, O.P, was a member of the Hawthorne Dominicans (she passed away on the feast of St. Dominic in 2001, a few weeks she of her golden jubilee) and
• I am a graduate of Providence College, the only college/university in the U.S. that is operated by the Dominican Friars.
