A WaterFire Treat

For the first time in a long time, Myrna and I had an opportunity to go to WaterFire in Providence last night. And it was a treat.

We arrived in plenty of time to watch the fires being lit in the "Basin." We also had the opportunity to watch a 50-foot Chinese dragon come into the Basin via boat (it was so long it needed three boats), disembark, parade around the Basin, and start heading toward Steeple Street, where it would participate in other Chinese Culture Night activities. The dragon was manned by members of the Bryant University Dragon Dance Team.

To put the presentation in context, the sponsors for this event were the U.S.-China Institute and Confucius Institute at Bryant University
and Schneider Electric.
